In June 2017, Sense about Science EU organised the first “Standing up for Science EU” workshop in Brussels, to give early researchers the tools and insights to inform policy and have a stronger voice within the EU. Their initiative was so successful that they are organising a second “Standing up for Science EU” workshop at the University of Warsaw on Friday 10th November. Support from early career researchers to stand up for science is now more important than ever and it is crucial that their voices are heard in public debates about science and evidence. These workshops have already created a network of over 2000 active researchers who stand up for science in public discussions, and the purpose of this event is to grow this network across Europe.
